As adults, we often forget just how much there is to learn for new drivers, and how long it can take to master the skills we take for granted. But it’s safe to say that we also know how important it is for teenagers to learn good habits early, and practice safe and defensive driving on the road. Here at Monroe Superstore, we’re pleased to announce that Dodge and the Mopar parts company also take teen driving skills seriously. Recently they have announced the return of the “Mopar Road Ready Powered by Dodge” program for 2016.

“Mopar Road Ready Powered by Dodge” works with teenagers and their parents to ensure that new drivers are as safe as possible behind the wheel. The two-day event will make five stops in four towns this spring, including right here in Michigan. These events will have classroom sessions for teens and their parents, as well as a hands-on portion. With an instructor for every three students, participants are guaranteed a quality program. The hands-on portion includes behind-the-wheel time on a track to practice real defensive driving techniques like accident avoidance, panic stops, wet skids, and more. This practice helps them build the confidence and skills they need to handle these situations on the road.

Last year “Mopar Road Ready Powered by Dodge” reached over 1,300 teens and their parents, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see an even greater impact this year. So if you’re worried about how your teen will do driving your brand new 2016 Chrysler 200 or the old family Dodge Caravan, Dundee, Toledo, and other Michigan and Ohio drivers can sign up for “Mopar Road Ready Powered by Dodge” and make sure their teenagers have the skills they need to drive safely.
