Although most of our local Toledo, Dundee, and Monroe drivers didn’t have a chance to attend the Geneva International Motor Show while it was going on over the last few days, here at your Michigan Jeep dealership, we did want to talk a little bit about this year’s show and the Jeep® models on display. The 86th Geneva International Motor Show gave classic Jeep models a chance to meet their modern counterparts as part of the Jeep brand’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

The long history of Jeep vehicles began 75 years ago, and the introduction of the iconic 1941 Willys-Overland MB and 1045 CJ-2A – Civilian Jeep – gave the brand an early foothold in the motor industry. And Jeep automakers continued to innovate, introducing their “Premium Large SUV” way back in 1963, paving the way for others in the class before they transformed the SUV category once again with the 1984 Jeep Cherokee. The Geneva Motor Show celebrated the future as well as the past though, and saw the debut of the Jeep Cherokee Overland trim, a top of the line model that brings increased sophistication and elegance to complement the Jeep off-road capabilities. The show also saw a special edition of the hugely popular Jeep Renegade, the Dawn of Justice Special Edition that will be featured in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. Another star of the show was the 2016 Jeep Cherokee SRT Night Special Edition, a limited edition of the most powerful and fastest Jeep vehicle ever.

With 75 years of history behind them and new and exciting models joining the line up every year, Jeep automakers look poised for another 75 years of making waves. If you’re ready to get in on the excitement, now might be the perfect time to look at a 2016 Jeep Renegade or 2016 Jeep Cherokee. Toledo and Dundee drivers don’t need to go as far as Geneva to find history and innovation combined – they just need to visit us at Monroe Superstore.
